Wednesday Community Meal
Each Wednesday evening, from 5:30 to 6:30, members of Church of Our Savior (COS) provide a warm, home-cooked meal for our hungry neighbors. The meal is served drive-through style. Enter the alley westbound from Vine Street. Volunteers bring meals to your vehicle. Donations are welcome. To volunteer for cooking or serving, please contact the church office.
Episcopal Extras
Essential items that can’t be purchased with SNAP benefits are available for free through three different kits from Episcopal Extras. The Covid/Medical Kit includes things like pain relievers, masks and gloves, cold/flu medicine, cough drops, a home Covid test. In the Hygiene Kit are things like shampoo, soap, antiperspirant, toothpaste and brush. The Cleaning Supplies Kit includes paper towels, laundry detergent, disinfectant, dish soap, toilet paper, facial tissue, and more. Women’s and men’s outerwear is also available. Episcopal Extras is open 1 to 3 PM Tuesday and Thursday, and 12:30 to 2:30 PM Wednesday at the church.
Hope Esperanza Community Food Share
Church of Our Savior hosts a Hope Esperanza pantry of non-perishable foods under the portico on the west side of church. Take what you need. Leave what you don’t need. Available 24/7.
Almoner’s Fund
The priest administers an Almoner’s Fund to help persons in need. Money given by members of the congregation to sustain the fund, and all disbursements are confidential. Please contact the priest if you are in need or would like to contribute to the fund.
Other Collections and Partnerships
COS partners with Grace Ministries food pantry by collecting food, and volunteering to stock and distribute groceries. Hope Minis, the youth group at Hope Esperanza, is our partner for collecting school supplies, winter clothing for kids, and more.
Additional Service Opportunities
In addition to the above service ministries of Church of Our Savior, other projects are done as the needed.
